Chance @ Rainbow Bridge

Chance, our amazing deaf but not handicap Boxer. We had to do the one last thing we could do for our best friend and family member on 25 Novemeber 2016 we lay Chance to rest, I had taken Chance to get a second opinion on her diagnoses of having an incurable form of cancer that was causing extreme bloating of her belly, the vet who nearly didn’t let me take her home to allow my wife and child to say goodbye could see how very loved Chance is and helped me by relieving some of the pressure caused by fluid retention and explained to me this is a temporary aid to allow your family to say goodbye… even though Chance had been eating and drinking normally it was just feeding the very thing that was causing her pain and discomfort.

Chance as anyone who truly loves their dog knows is irreplaceable and never to be compared to by our newest family… Jem the Boxer. Eve our 1st Boxer and Chance are each amazing and unique in their own way as is every dog. @micky.oneill

I am a father, a husband and a dog owner. Like many of you, I love my pets and they are treated as family members. On saying that, if you ask my wife, the order is dogs, daughter and then me but hey, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I write about pet ownership with a slant towards pet loss. Whilst that may sound incredibly depressing to some, I want to focus more on why our pets are so important, the effect they have on our lives and the wonderful memories they create for us. I have been a qualified hypnotherapist since 1999 hence the many references to self-hypnosis as a method of dealing with the pain of pet loss. I know this works so I hope you will give it a try. Please contribute to the success of this website by commenting, liking and sharing.
